Code named Menger it viewed as JS_MENGER.GEN aliases, MENGER.GEN, MENGER,

Js/Messenger-Exploit.

In a media release, anti-virus company Trend Micro, stated, "This JavaScript mail

ware uses an exploit in Internet Explorer (IE) to use the Microsoft Messenger (MSN)

application. It sends a message asking the target user to visit the Web site containing

its malicious HTML code."

The virus also steals a list of logon names from the MSN messenger application and then

emails these to its author's email address.

As a solution for this, the company, recommends, "All Internet users - For a quick

check-up of your PC, use HouseCall – Trend Micro's free online virus scanner. This

will check for viruses which may already be on your PC."
