MUMBAI: Memphis Technology has launched IntreScan Scan Whizz 1440 scanner, a product of Malaysia-based Intresource, in the Indian market. "We will target SMEs and channels partners and bundle products to enhance its sales. So this will be an advantage while entering a market with a new product," Memphis (business manager) Sunil Swarup.

The IntreScan has 600 x 2400 dpi with a USB interface and is 277x443x55 mm in size. It uses CCD (charge-coupled device) technology, which improves the quality of digital images and it is different from the conventional CCDs with photodiodes and pixel arrangements.

As of now, Memphis has 10 master dealers and around 2,000 resellers across the country. In Mumbai alone it has nearly 400 resellers. "If necessary, we will go for a channel expansion," says Sunil.

In the initial phase, the IntreScan will be made available with 100 channel partners all over India, of which 15-20 will be based in Mumbai. This will be then expanded to other channel partners. "We will focus on the channel partners to tap the market. Our pricing of the product for the partners will naturally depend on the volume of sales," he said. The IntreScan comes with a one-year warranty and is priced around Rs 4,970.
