Twitter has added 72 new emojis that were included in Unicode 9.0 update earlier last month. These have been added to the open source emoji library. So, tweeps rejoice and play with this emoji-filled gift from Twitter.

Other than this, Twitter recently updated its "advanced search feature as well", to allow all users to easily look for tweets from a particular day. Hence, you no longer have to prefix ‘Since:’ or ‘Until:’ to look for a tweet from particular date. To explain it further, earlier if you were to look for tweets on Narendra Modi for the said period you would search- “Narendra Modi since:2015-07-01 until:2016-07-05”.

Now here's how the advanced search page works, it has separate text entry fields for since and till dates. What else? It also has the other already-existing people and keyword options. And here's to our favourite feature, you can now search for tweets as per date based on a particular mood positive or negative.

Now about the emojis, there's a catch. If you wish to use them, the best way is to copy and paste the character you want to use from the emoji keyboard or Emojipedia websites. It then becomes extremely simple to paste them into your tweets and see the magic. Also, remember not to panic, because initially when you paste them into your browser window, they will likely appear as boxes.

But they will reveal themselves in their true form once the tweet is actually posted.

This latest update from twitter includes the 72 new characters and was announced earlier this year. These emojis are a mix of funny and interesting "expressions" which also include the bacon, avocado, selfie, whiskey and clown characters

However, it should be noted that no support for the same has been rolled out to iOS or most other operating systems. Hence, for using these new characters for real, you will have to walk a few extra miles and take extra steps than usual.

The internet is abuzz with talks over the launch of these for iOS, Android and other platforms in the coming weeks and months. Twitter has become one of the first companies to start supporting the new emoji characters.
