Meet Google Reply, an AI-powered app that suggests smart replies to chats in notifications

Google is coming up with a new app that automatically suggests smart replies to your messages. The development was first reported by Android Police.

The app, named Google Reply will suggest smart replies to notifications, allowing you to respond with a single touch. The app lets you offer smart replies to messages in many messaging apps, including Google Hangouts, Android Messages, WhatsApp, Twitter and more.

The app will let you sign in to your Google account for a more personalized experience, and requests access to notifications. Once that’s done, it’ll provide smart replies right inside notifications from any chat apps that allow users to reply directly from the notification shade.

The app can, however, locate you based on GPS. A “Where are you?” query offered the smart reply of my exact address along with a Google Maps link. Reply offers you various responses to choose from and works best with short exchanges. An “automated responses” feature can also be found in the app. When enabled, the recipient is notified via a robot emoji about what has just triggered the response they received.

Google Reply is still in beta, and if you want to download it, you'll need to sideload the APK file as it isn't available in the Play Store.
