Medi Assist has launched MediBuddy, an Android mobile app that enables users to manage all their healthcare needs using their smartphones.

A MediBuddy user can send a claim intimation to Medi Assist just ahead of hospitalization to hasten pre-authorization for cashless hospitalization. They can then track the claim in real-time without having to follow up with the hospital helpdesk or the customer support team.

“With MediBuddy, our customers can track their health insurance claims in real-time. This is particularly useful during times of emergency hospitalization when one wants to know whether a preauthorization for cashless admission has been approved,” said Dr. Vikram Jit Singh Chhatwal, chairman, Medi Assist.

The app also helps users track their reimbursement claims in real-time. Interestingly, one can track claims and access information about beneficiaries even without signing up. “So, for example, if you are at your hometown taking care of your parent who has undergone hospitalization, and don’t have your login details handy, you can track the status of your claim without signing in – all you need is either your registered mobile number, email id, employee id or your Medi Assist ID,” explains Dr. Chhatwal.

The app also sports other handy features. The Hospitals menu allows users to locate and contact the nearest network hospital. This is important because cashless hospitalization, and potentially preferential corporate tariffs, are available only at network hospitals. The FAQs menu gives users quick information about types of hospitalization, claims and the procedure for raising claims.
