ME order worth $49 mn for Harris

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA: Harris Corporation, an international communications and information technology company, has received a $49 million order to provide a nation in the Middle East with integrated tactical communications.

Harris shares it is providing this nation with advanced Falcon high-frequency, very-high-frequency, and multiband radios. These radios will be tightly integrated with vehicular intercom systems in support of a command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance network. The network will support military and security forces.

"This solution will enable this nation to communicate seamlessly across the breadth of the entire brigade combat team," said Brendan O'Connell, president, International Business, Harris RF Communications. "Harris Falcon radios are increasingly being integrated into tactical area communication systems that connect headquarters to the field through real-time voice and data and ISR feeds."

The company adds that Harris RF Communications is also a supplier of assured communications systems and equipment for public safety, utility and transportation markets - with products ranging from the most advanced IP voice and data networks to portable and mobile single and multiband radios.
