SUNNYVALE, CALIF: McAfee.com Corp., which sells PC management and security
software and services, on Wednesday said its pro forma third-quarter results
beat expectations, citing a growing subscriber base.
Excluding one-time charges, McAfee.com posted a profit of $2.75 million, or 6
cents per share in its third quarter ended Sept. 30. In the year-earlier quarter
the Sunnyvale, California company had a loss of $3.8 million, or a loss of 9
cents per share.
Revenues for the quarter were $16.2 million, up 29 percent from $12.6 million
a year ago, the company said.
Four analysts polled by Thomson Financial/First Call predicted the company
would post third-quarter earnings in a range of 1 cent to 3 cents per share.
Their consensus estimate was 3 cents per share.
