Marwadi Finance ramps up online trading

MUMBAI, INDIA: Marwadi Shares And Finance Limited (MSFL), a Gujarat based financial services has selected HP’s solutions to consolidate & manage huge volume of online trading effectively. Marwadi Group deals with equities/commodities broking and portfolio management services.

Over 1500 clients login to MSFL's online trading system everyday, and within the first 10 minutes of the stock exchanges' opening bell, thousands of trades happen in a matter of seconds. Add to this, over 100 trades per second through the day that happens till the closing time amounts to an enormous volume of transactions, these transactions also resulted in to huge financial data which needs to be processed further. And with the volume of transactions running into over hundered of crores per day, it was imperative that their IT infrastructure should manage the enormous volume of transactions.

For MSFL’s server and storage solutions, after visiting and evaluating the solution centers of all the major players, the company finally selected HP to be their solution partner M/s. Ishan Infotech Limited – Gujarat based Enterprise business partner of HP had played a major role in mapping the customer requirements and offerings from HP. The key differentiators for going with HP were the incredible features of the SAN EVA 4000 and HP's domain expertise in the financial segments. The SAN EVA 4000 in combination with the HP BladeSystem c7000 was chosen because of its manageability, scalability, cost effectiveness and the ability to control hundreds to thousands of users who can be supported with consistently high performance and excellent operating efficiency.

An integral part of the MSFL solution has been the ODIN application from FT India. 80% of their trading platform has been running on this multi-exchange, multi-segment front office securities trading platform for equities, derivatives, and commodities markets. Migrating the ODIN application to the HP Blade Servers in conjunction with HP SAN EVA 4000 has brought down the downtime by more than 80%. Seeing these significant results, MSFL is now using ODIN for all its trading activities. MSFL has subsequently also gone in for an additional HP BladeSystem c3000 along with AIO’s & LTO’s in blade form factor.

HP’s solutions have resulted in a faster and more secure data cataloguing and retrieval for MSFL’s Group. Apart from the ease & utilization of storage space & increased reliability of data storage, MSFL also now enjoys better data manageability, thanks to HP SAN EVA 4000. The customer now has optimal utilization of the disk space and there is no single point of failure.
