Maran to lead delegation to France

NEW DELHI: Minister of Communications & IT Dayanidhi Maran would lead a high level delegation to France to participate in the Third GSM World Congress from February 14 to February 16, 2005 at Cannes, France.






The GSM Association, consisting of all GSM operators across the globe in which Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) is also a member, is organizing the annual event.





According to the press release, the GSM World Congress provides an opportunity for showcasing India's phenomenal growth in the mobile sector during the last three years and the country's plans for the future. It is expected that more than 30,000 representatives of various network operators, governments and manufacturers from 200 countries will be participating. The event will serve as an umbrella to bring together the various leaders of GSM industry to discuss and debate at length the policy, technology, challenges and other like-issues.





Maran will also visit London from February 17 to February 19, 2005, where he will meet the chairperson of OFCOM, regulator for the UK communications industries, a replica of TRAI.
