MapmyIndia, a New Delhi-based company that provides digital maps, has launched a GPS tracking device dubbed 'Rover Bike' for a connected biking experience.

Priced at Rs 3,990, Rover Bike, an IoT device for motorbikes in India offers discreet motorcycle security system that allows users to keep a track of their vehicle's whereabouts in real-time.

"You get Live locations of your motorbike on a map, down to building-level detail, with direction as well as speed. Your drives are continuously and securely monitored and recorded. They also get the option of the animated replay of their previous rides," MapmyIndia said in its release.

The new GPS tracker is equipped with built-in GPS and Internet connectivity. Users also get a free accompanying mobile app that keeps them connected with the bike.

"This bike security system ensures safety, security, compliance and maintenance of your motorbike. Alerts and information related to ignition on/off, over-speeding, idling, breach of geofence (leaving from or arriving at a particular location), servicing, pollution or insurance expiry due etc. are relayed to users via the mobile app, emails and SMSes," the company further added.

Rover bike security system will come with a 12-month manufacturer warranty. The price mentioned above includes the device as well as SIM charges; however, the service for the device will cost you Rs. 2,400 a year. Also, the SMS users will have to purchase an additional plan, though email alerts are bundled free with the device.
