Chugh previously held the leadership role in India for five years until May 2008 when he was promoted to the newly created role of Director for Global Accounts for EMC in Asia Pacific & Japan (APJ). As a result of his success in working with global customers in APJ, Chugh will continue to lead Global Accounts for EMC in APJ in addition to now leading the sales and services organizations in EMC India.

In his expanded leadership role, Chugh will be responsible for accelerating EMC’s growth in India, strengthening the team, and enhancing EMC’s relationships with partners and alliances in India. He will also work closely with Sarv Saravanan, who is the leader of EMC's Center of Excellence (CoE) based in Bengaluru, to expand EMC's products and services capabilities in India.

Before joining EMC in 2003, Manoj served as the President of Cisco Systems in India and SAARC. During Chugh’s 27-year stint in the IT industry, he has held several senior positions in sales, business development, and general management at Wipro, Scientific Atlanta and HCL Group.

“India is an important and strategic market where EMC has established one of its two CoEs in Asia Pacific & Japan,” said Ron Goh, President, EMC South Asia. “Chugh’s extensive experience in leading businesses to market leadership positions and in delivering on EMC’s service commitments combined with his experience at EMC with global customers will provide tremendous value as we continue to invest in global customers and India as a source of innovation and revenue growth,” he said.

“As I continue to work with EMC global customers, it’s clear that customers of all sizes are grappling with similar issues around how to store, protect, virtualize and automate the massive growth of information,” said Chugh. “I look forward to bringing my experience both in India and with global customers to my expanded role at EMC and helping our team work with customers in India to capitalize on EMC’s innovative technology, service capabilities and partnerships,” Chugh added.
