Manoj Chugh exits EMC, joins Mahindra Satyam as global head

BANGALORE, INDIA: Global consulting and IT services provider, Mahindra Satyam, announced on Thursday that that it has appointed Manoj Chugh as Global Head: Business Development.

In the new role, Chugh would be supporting the integrated entity's business expansion plans across accounts and geographies, stated a release.

His extensive experience in key areas, such as dealing with complex multi-player deals, launching and developing new services and products will help propel Mahindra Satyam-Tech Mahindra combine to emerge as the market leader in chosen areas.

Chugh has led four diverse businesses, in addition to pioneering new businesses/categories in a career spanning 30 years across organizations such as Wipro, Scientific Atlanta, Cisco and EMC.

Commenting on his appointment, C.P. Gurnani, chief executive officer, Mahindra Satyam, said, "Manoj joins us at a time when the Industry is poised to transform. We look forward to benefit from his experience, leadership and feel confident that Mahindra Satyam-Tech Mahindra will continue to excel in driving relationships, fostering innovation and delivering service excellence to our customers."

An Industry veteran, Chugh has been honored as amongst the Top Ten who shaped the Decade ( 2000- 2010) of the IT Industry in India by Dataquest and IT Man of the Year-2001 among other felicitations.

He is also on the Executive Board of American Chamber of Commerce in India for six years and was the Past Chairman of the Storage Networking Industry Association, India (Affiliate of the Global SNIA Organization), 2009-2011, the release added.

On his new role, Chugh shared, "I am indeed proud to join the Mahindra Group, as it is one of the fastest growing and most successful groups in the world today. It will be my objective to ensure that our clients see and experience the business benefits that Mahindra Satyam-Tech Mahindra deliver across the entire spectrum of the value chain, to realize its ambition."
