Man nabbed for promising IT jobs

Chennai: Chennai police has arrested a man on charges of cheating two people by

promising lucrative jobs in software companies.

Assistant Commissioner of Police, Murali said that a special team on

Saturday arrested Khader Gani of Dindigul on charges of cheating two people by

promising them jobs in a software company. "We are on the look out for his

brother Raffiq Sadiq and Arupukottai Palanichami, believed to be

accomplices," he informed.

According to the police, Khader Gani ran a placement agency called V.Placeu

Consultancy in Ram Nagar in Coimbatore. Palanichami, an agent for the firm, had

approached Anand (23) and Satish Kumar and promised them jobs in a Bangalore-based

software firm. The youth, from Tiruppur and Erode, had graduated in M.Sc.

Software Engineering from Erode. Each paid Rs. 1.20 lakh to Palanichami.

When the two approached the company's `branch office' in Coimbatore, they

found that the company had closed down.

Later, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, has remanded Khader

Gani for 15 days custody.
