MUMBAI: Malaysia's Multimedia Development Corporation (MDC), developers and managers of the country's Multimedia Super Corridor, has signed a MoU with Nasscom, extending the previous signed in 2000, for another five years.
The MoU aims to contribute to the growth and development of the IT trade between the two countries and to help Malaysia explore opportunities in the ITES-BPO and entertainment sector for the mutual benefit of the two countries.
As per the agreement both the parties would implement a series of activities, including, exchange of information by way of publications, periodicals, non-confidential research and survey findings, especially in the area of ITS/ITES-BPO, multimedia and entertainment. Joint research and development projects in ICT related areas, exhibitions, workshops and conferences are also on the agenda of the two countries.
"ICT and IT enabled services are high growth areas for the multimedia super corridor. The partnership with Nassscom combines India's strength as an IT and offshore powerhouse with Malaysia's world-class infrastructure, multi-language capability and expertise in sectors such as manufacture, finance, energy and supply chain," said Mohamed Arif Nun, CEO, Multimedia Development Corporation.
