Post-demonetization, almost every segment of cash payment has been badly affected. To provide best possible services amid the cash crunch, PayU-backed Citrus Pay has partnered HPCL to drive cashless payments for LPG gas cylinders, an important part of any household.

With this partnership, HPCL users will now receive an SMS the day their cylinder is out for delivery. Once they follow the link in SMS, users can make the payment via credit and debit cards, net banking or Citrus Pay wallet. The company has also introduced QR Codes and POS integration for cashless payments at petrol pumps.

Citrus Pay' cashless payment system for gas cylinders enables users to make the payment even if you are unavailable at your delivery address. Just pick up your mobile and make the payment from anywhere. Your neighbour can collect the cylinder, avoiding unwanted cancellations.

Jitendra Gupta, Managing Director, PayU India said, "The association works in the favour of the users in two ways; firstly, it intimates users the moment the cylinder is out for delivery via an SMS. Secondly, the same SMS also carries a link for digital payments, including the mobile wallet Citrus Pay, and users will receive an invoice of the entire transaction online. We are fully committed to government's initiative of driving a cashless economy and this is a significant step enabling 50 million consumers to go cashless."

Additionally, users can also follow the same procedure at petrol pumps, the POS would be supported with OTP triggered validating, adding an extra layer of security.
