With the healthcare market poised to be around $300-$400 billion
globally and Indian health sector slowly opening up to the networking concept of
their hospitals, this is one segment which is standing on the threshold to huge
opportunities.
CIOL catches up with Majoris Systems vice president of Healthcare, John
Cecil, one of the leading Indian consulting companies to foray into the
healthcare market in a big way and are poised to play a significant role in the
US Healthcare market.
What made Majoris foray into the healthcare segment?
We felt that, we had the necessary domain expertise in the field, the
technical know-hows and a thorough understanding of healthcare domain from our
earlier days in BFL software Ltd. to take the lead in the healthcare market.
Particularly with the US announcing major policy on automating Disease Control
Management, we saw it as a huge opportunity to showcase out strength.
As we had a solution structured around user needs and also with the core
expertise in integration of technologies and frameworks for hospitals
implementing healthcare solutions, we felt we could make a strong in-road into
the healthcare market.
We see ourselves to be the forerunners in the area of domain development,
evolve new protocols, techniques as well as offer consulting services to execute
end to end solutions.
Do you have any plans to foray into other verticals ? What is your focus?
Right now we are focusing mainly on healthcare with the emphasis on building
Domain and Technology expertise and to augment on cost-effective but
quality delivery. We need to see that our solutions are HIPPA ( Healthcare
Insurance Portability and Accountability) compliant and seamlessly integrates
the three Ps (Providers, Physicians, Patients).
Our other enterprise solutions offerings include, banking and finance,
manufacturing and telecommunications, apart from healthcare.
How are the policy matters and healthcare legislation managed?
We have alliances with various prestigious bodies in US healthcare segment
like Community Health Information Consortium (CHIC), HIPPA, Centre for Health
Information Management (CHIM), and others. We interact, share and offer our
opinions and suggestions at the highest level right from regulatory to policy
making.
All these have provided us the right opportunity to influence the standards
and interact with Wall Street’s VC community as well as the Federal Government
level. Apart from the industry alliances, we have involved with Federal
Legislative and Regulatory & Standards development by offering our expert
consultancy on the recent advocacy task force by the Federal Government on
Improving Patient Safety.
Could you tell us about your key strategies to penetrate the market?
We have identified key strategic networking needs, including member to
member, member to market and member to customer maps. Planning to tap events
that nurture transformational ideas, forge strategic business alliances, and
meet the customer needs. Also on the anvil are to provide extensive information
and opportunities for members to target new and existing customer pools.
Who are your major clients? Have you forayed into the Indian market?
Right now we cannot divulge the details as we are in the process of closing
the deal We would target the Indian market in the due course but since US is
already geared up to the healthcare solutions market in a big way, we need to
get a strong foothold there.
Could you tell us about the solutions that you are offering and some of its
key features?
We offer customized Total Healthcare Information Systems (THIS), mapping
global trends (Tele-medicine, PDA & Mobile solutions) and Standards within
the localized process of the Healthcare community, consultancy on solutions and
service on integrating legacy application. EDI, security and Tele-medicine.
Apart from this we provide consultancy on HIPAA compliance standards and also
provide e-governance solutions.
We have developed end-end health care solution that combines the power if
e-Health record with the emerging business module called complete health
information network solutions (CHINS) system that seamlessly connects all the
players under the healthcare systems.
