Mahindra to set up tech park in Maharashtra

MUMBAI, INDIA: As part of its joint partnership with Cisco, which was announced on Tuesday, Mahindra Group, the Mumbai-based US $7.1 billion multinational group, has expressed its intention to set up a technology hub for developing new technology and solutions.

“I am absolutely delighted that the first project under this initiative is intended to be the Mahindra Innovation Park, which will create new benchmarks through its smart solutions,” Anand Mahindra, Mahindra Group’s vice-chairman and managing director said, while announcing the joint partnership here on Wednesday.

The Mahindra Innovation Park is a highly ambitious project of the Mahindra Group that intent to build a center of innovation and technology developments. The idea is to bring together technology developers and innovators under one roof and collaborate in building smart solutions.

“The park will be coming up in Maharashtra state and will be spread in 2-3 acres of land. Presently, we are in the process of land procurement and won’t able to share more details,” Anita Arjundas, Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd’s managing director and chief executive officer told CyberMedia News on the side lines of the media briefing.

Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd is the construction and realty arm of the Mahindra Group. The construction company will be entirely responsible for developing the tech park. Financial details and specifications of the project are not disclosed by the group.
