MUMBAI, INDIA: In what can be termed as a classic use of technology to enable faster citizen welfare, Devendra Fadnavis, the Maharashtra CM, along with the officials of the State Health Ministry, discussed measures to curb the swine flu virus with all the divisional commissioners and collectors of the state, through video conferencing (VC).

Confirming the development via a tweet chat, the Maharashtra CM said that he had opted for VC as a faster means of communicating with the relevant state officials.

“We discussed the situation and I have given them the necessary approvals to initiate the action,” he said.

CIOL welcomes the steps taken by the CM, and appreciates the efforts taken by the state head to cross over red-tapism for faster and efficient citizen welfare, especially as the panic levels due to the increase in swine flu deaths are on a rise.
