Magic Cleaner for WhatsApp

No doubt, WhatsApp is one of the extensively used messaging apps across the world. However, it comes with one very annoying feature- every random person in your contact list gets added to your WhatsApp contacts list and you end up receiving all the forwarded pictures and memes, which takes a lot of space on your smartphone.

The problem seems to have got a cure by a company founded by an Adobe ex-employee, Siftr - which has made an app designed to sort through the WhatsApp pictures for the important photos, leaving aside the spam ones.

Magic Cleaner scans the WhatsApp Media Folder and automatically finds the spam images like screenshots, memes, cartoons and other pictures with text on them. Afterwards, it offers you the option of deleting them all at once. By using an image recognition engine that analyzes an image in order to determine if it’s spam or not – they take a part of the image and run it through their image database.

However, you can only delete a limited number of photos each day and you have to be connected to the internet. If you want to delete more, you have to either wait until the next day or you’ll need to invite a friend to try Magic Cleaner. Though the app helps in deleting WhatsApp images, thumbnails are not deleted, you’ll have to delete them manually.
