Macromedia to unveil new integrated range of MX

Macromedia, provider of Internet Application tools, is all set to launch
Macromedia MX, a new integrated family of client, tool, and server technologies.
Macromedia MX is the latest tool for creating rich Internet Applications that
create significantly more intuitive, responsive, and effective user experiences
across platforms and devices.



Macromedia India country manager, Shriram Krishnamachari said, "The
products in the Macromedia MX family are major new releases that offer designers
and developers powerful new functionality for creating effective user
experiences across the spectrum of Internet solutions from basic Websites to
complex web applications".

The major new releases in the Macromedia MX product family includes the
Macromedia ColdFusion MX, a rapid server-scripting environment and a suite of
development tools, Macromedia Dreamweaver MX and Macromedia Fireworks MX.



As per the current plans for India, the company is also rolling out the Alliance
Partner Program to reach out to independent companies that provide services,
solutions and products built around Macromedia technologies. The Macromedia
Alliance helps partners develop skills, broaden market reach and capture
demand-generation opportunities by supporting the growth of each Partner’s
business with exclusive access to resources, knowledge, and training.



The other plan that Macromedia is embarking on is leveraging on BSA efforts to
educate the market and customers with regards to proper software licensing.
Macromedia has recently added the Network License Detection function into the
latest range of software that detects another user on a company network using
the same copy of license.

In India as well as worldwide, the company has identified three profitable
segments for its products Business, Government, Education. To reach and
efficiently service these segments Macromedia has developed a strong sales &
distribution network.



In India Macromedia operates through a network of three Distributors which
include Tech pacific, Sonata and Wipro Infotech and 40 preferred resellers. To
create awareness about its products, the company is planning to organize
roadshows and seminars in the coming month.



Other channels for promoting sales are Macromedia Alliance Partners that are
independent companies that provide services, solutions and products built around
Macromedia technology. Currently the company has five alliance partners in place
and is expecting to have 35 by the end of next quarter



Macromedia has a tie-up with VUE for software certification, which allows a web
designer to become a Macromedia Certified Professional. The VUE certification is
accepted and required by most web development companies.

The company also has authorized training partner that trains around 25,000
students per year. The company has generated revenue of $330 million worldwide
last year. In India the company is expecting a growth of 78 percent this year.
