Maars Software buys Saphire

BANGALORE, August 17: Maars Software International Ltd. has announced that it had

acquired the Systematic Products division of UK-based Saphire Systematics.

As per the agreement between the two companies, Maars Software has obtained the

intellectual property rights (IPR) of the divisions and products along with its customer

base of 1000 firms in UK and Kenya, into its proprietary Enterprise resources Planning

(ERP) software. The company did not disclose the price at which the acquisition was made.

The ERP software helps firms track inventory, purchasing, finance, marketing, despatch and

personnel data on an integrated system.

Maars Software company secretary P.Emerson Andrews said that the UK acquisition was a

first step for the company to enter the European market. He added that, the company was

also talking to a Belgium-based company for a tie-up to enter the enterprise resource

planning (ERP) market in Europe
