NEW DELHI: Construction of Cybertron Software Technology Park (CSTP) in

GomtiNagar will begin next month, the foundation stone of which was laid in

January this year by Prime Minister of India. The park will be coming up in

three acres of land.

Cybertron Technopolis Ltd. is the joint venture between UP Electronics

Corporation Ltd. and Cyberspace Ltd. and its nominees. The Videsh Sanchar Nigam

Ltd. will meet the necessary bandwidth requirements of the occupants of STP.

The construction of CSTP will begin in the first week of April by L&T and

the project is expected to be complete within eight months. The Rs 8.91 crore

project is being financed by way of equity (Rs 2.22 crore) and debt (Rs 78 lakh).

The promoters’ equity of Rs 3 crore will have the UP Electronics Corporation

Ltd. contributing Rs 78 lakh (in the form of land for the project) and

Cyberspace Ltd., its associates and nominees bringing in Rs 2.22 crore. The debt

portion has already been tied up with the Federal Bank and the EXIM bank.

The STP at Lucknow will be housed in two floors and have a total built up

area of 40,000 sq. ft. in the initial phase. The STP will have satellite earth

station providing international connectivity with a proposed bandwidth of 8

mbps. It will also have multi-tier security system with smart card entry and

CCTV for monitoring.

Space in the Software Technology Park will be leased to companies at rates

comparable to other Software Technology Parks of the country.

The software exports from this center are estimated to be Rs 200 crore in the

first year. The presence of major Indian and international companies like Lotus

Corporation, IBM, Microsoft and Okie World Corporation etc will accelerate the

working in the STP. The center will train professionals and encourage design and

development in the field of software technology and software engineering. The

park will also create a platform where smaller players can get in touch with

prospective overseas partners.

Cyberspace Ltd. is a software services company with a market capitalization

of over Rs 650 crore. It has branches in Lucknow, New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore

and overseas offices in London, New Jersey, Dubai and Zurich.
