Lucent India gets new CEO in Rao

NEW DELHI: CS Rao has taken charge as Lucent India's president and CEO. He takes over this position from Vincent Mazzola. Rao's previous position was with Tellabs India, where he was the regional director for SAARC countries. At Tellabs, he worked for 10 years and was solely responsible for operations in India as well as South Asian countries.



Rao has about 25 years of experience in the field of telecom and datacom technology. While working with C-DoT, he led the team, which pioneered ISDN switch, on C-DoT developed technology. For three years, from 1982—85, he was with British Telecom, UK where he worked in the field of switching.

Rao started his career in the field of data communications, with ECIL, in 1979, right after he completed his post graduation in telecommunications from IIT Madras. He has published several papers in the field of telecommunications, in many national and international seminars and symposia.
