LSI India names new managing director

BANGALORE: LSI Corporation today announced the appointment of Santhanakrishnan Raman as managing director of LSI India Research and Development Pvt. Ltd.

In his new role, Raman will be responsible for driving business growth, advancing the company’s R&D strategy and spearheading the expansion of LSI in India, said a press release.

The company currently employs over 1,000 people in Bangalore and Pune.

“India is a key development location for LSI, with engineers involved across the breadth of our product line,” said Abhi Talwalkar, president and chief executive officer, LSI.

He added that Raman has played a key role over the past several years helping to build our capabilities in India, and his proven leadership and deep technical skills make him an ideal leader to steer LSI India forward.

As managing director, Raman will be responsible for driving several key initiatives for LSI India, as well as day-to-day management of the company’s product portfolio and relationships with customers, suppliers, universities and government entities.

“The teams we’ve built at LSI India make significant contributions to the company’s success,” said Raman. “I look forward to helping the teams here continue to grow their capabilities and strategic value to LSI.”

Raman succeeds Pravin Desale, who has been appointed vice president of IC development for the Storage Components Division and will be based at the company’s U.S. headquarters.
