Logix to invest Rs 2.5 crore to revamp Carazoo.com

BANGALORE, INDIA: Carazoo.com, India’s leading interactive car portal will go through a revamp phase with an investment of over Rs 2.5 crore over the next few months. Beginning next April, Logix Microsystems Ltd, the US-based parent company will provide a total new architecture with latest technologies to the site including access from mobile phones.

publive-imageThe site claims to be a one-stop-shop portal catering to the requirements of car buyers/sellers, car manufacturers, car financers and insurance providers and car accessories suppliers.

Talking to CIOL Bureau, Pankaj Patel, vice president of Logix Microsystems (India) says, “India is likely to emerge among the largest car markets in the world with major companies rolling out the latest models here. In order to exploit this growing market, we had initially invested about Rs 2 crore in Carazoo.com and will now enhance it further with additional revenue of Rs 2.5 crore.”

Patel says from April, the site will be revamped with 80 new additional features including user-friendly architecture foronline payment gateway besides looking at adding access to the site through mobile phones.

``In India none of the car showrooms have enough space to display all their products. More ever, since these are located in the main city roads, it is difficult for customers to visit the showrooms,” says Patel. So what is unique is that, “we shoot photographs of the car inside/outside and create a interactive animation (2D) with a 3D effect for an entire 360 degree of the car and also facilitate purchase of the car.”

One can take a car for a virtual spin; paint it in different colors with the available colors palette. In addition, Carazoo provides comprehensive information on all types of new and used cars.

The site claims to generate about 6,000 leads with about 140,000 hits every month. The company has also started a call center with over eight employees, qualified in car sales and catering to about 42 cities that accounts to about 78 percent of the car market in the country. Patel says, “Internet is the medium used to generate sale leads and pass it on the dealers.” In fact, they have been dealing with more than 120 car dealers including Hyundai, Maruti, M&M, Fiat, and Tata Motors. However, has left out the high-end cars so far.

The company has been mainly focusing on – Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mysore and now has moved into Mumbai, Pune and also NCR.

The site was inaugurated in Bangalore on August 2007 and is the brainchild of Logix Microsystems, a leading supplier of memory chips to computer manufacturing companies and aimed at the Indian segment that has been prompted by their hugely successful -- izmocars products and services in the US. The Bangalore-based company has already done animation for some of the manufacturing majors including General Motors, Ford, Mitsubishi in the US.
