Lockheed Martin starts India subsidiary

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Lockheed Martin, a provider of government information technology services, today announced the opening of its India subsidiary - Lockheed Martin India Pvt. Ltd.

The fully owned subsidiary of Lockheed Martin Global would represent the interests of all the operating systems of Lockheed Martin in India.

The company appointed Douglas A. Hartwick as the chief executive of the India subsidiary. Hartwick takes over from Royce Caplinger, who completed two years as the managing director.

Before this appointment, Douglas served as Assistant US Trade Representative for South Asia at the Office of the United States Trade Representative.

During his diplomatic career, Hartwick served twice in India (1986-90 and 1994-97). Besides defense services, Lockheed Martin is also looking to establish its presence in spaces like Information Technology, aerospace security and RFID Technology.

The company, headquartered in Bethesda (USA), employs about 140,000 people worldwide and is primarily engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services.
