BANGALORE, INDIA: Test-equipment sourcing specialist, Livingston, has been awarded the EXFO Exceptional Partnership Award. The award is in recognition of Livingston's effectiveness in promoting EXFO's portfolio of highly advanced instrumentation and flexible finance solutions to its customer base over the last year.

One of the many noteworthy successes that Livingston achieved for EXFO over the past year concerns EXFO's FTB-1 handheld testing platform. Livingston acquired a large quantity of these units for use in various metro and access network implementation ventures across Europe. Livingston also employed items from the EXFO kit when assisting DANTE and Infinera in setting a new world record for the fastest-ever provisioning of long-haul optical network capacity (with 8 Tbits/s brought online in a mere 19 minutes). The kit items included the EXFO FTB-85100G Packet Blazer, a 40G/100G Ethernet tester, and the FTB-5240S Optical Spectrum Analyzer, both sourced via Livingston's UK operation.

Reinier Treur, marketing director of Livingston, said: "It is of prime importance to everyone working for Livingston that we can demonstrate the company's worth as a channel partner and our adeptness in supporting the supply chain of a market that is in a constant state of flux. Equipment rental is becoming a vital part of the test and measurement business, because engineers need to be able to find the sourcing option that best suits their specific technical, logistical and budgetary requirements. By selecting Livingston as the recipient of this award, EXFO has shown it appreciates the value of the rental approach and recognizes our ability to secure big wins in their favor."
