BANGALORE: FOSS.IN/2005 India's largest Free and Open Source Software Event, will be held at the Bangalore Palace from November 29 to December 2, 2005.

To stress its focus on Free & Open Source Software (FOSS), the event, earlier known as "Linux Bangalore" organised by Linux Bangalore, has been re-christened as FOSS.IN. The four-day event will witness talks, discussions, workshops, round table meetings and demonstrations by National and International speakers, covering diverse spectrum of FOSS technologies, community and culture. Around 3500 attendees are expected to grace the event.

Going beyond the scope of technical Linux related topics, FOSS.IN now focuses on all topics related to Linux, BSD, FOSS technologies, FOSS and non-FOSS platforms, etc. at the technical level, said Atul Chitnis, Chairperson, FOSS.IN/2005.

"What differentiates this event is that it is driven by the FOSS community itself, not commercial entities. We ensure that it delivers quality information and education about FOSS technologies to thousands of participants every year," he adds.

FOSS.IN/2005 brings together professionals and enthusiasts from across India, Asia and the rest of the world for this four-day conference.

New to this year's event is the inclusion of business forums in the form of exclusive CXO level forums that discuss the role of FOSS in business and enterprise.
