Linksys wireless-n-routers for home users

MUMBAI, INDIA: Linksys, a division of Cisco, has announced the availability of its new Ultra RangePlus Wireless-N Broadband Router (WRT160N) and the Ultra RangePlus Wireless-N Gigabit Router (WRT310N).

These routers are the first models available in India that feature a stylish new design and come with improved usability features such as the Linksys Easylink Advisor (LELA). The LELA helps in simplified set-up of the network, and helps assure that all devices and connections are stable and highly secure.

“The new Ultra RangePlus routers showcase the way in which Linksys is taking Wireless-N to new levels of design, performance and ease of use. We strongly believe that the sleek new router design is sympathetic to modern living whereas traditional routers have been hidden in a cupboard or behind a curtain,” said Sanjeev Gupta, Linksys Director Channels, Asia Pacific, “But it is not only the design that make these products attractive – installing a home network with the wireless router or connecting additional devices is simplified with our new Linksys EasyLink Advisor and improved set-up wizards.”

The WRT160N and WRT310N are designed to take the router out of the study and into the living room. Both come with a shiny finish and slim profile which refreshes and revamp the industrial design on Linksys router models. They also feature the new enhanced RangePlus internal antenna technology from Linksys without compromising on performance or reliability.

Ease to use

The WRT160N and WRT310N come with Linksys EasyLink Advisor (LELA) which is essentially a ‘Network Advisor in a Box’. This handy software is designed to take away the technical hassle when setting up a new wireless network. It can help to set up a router with a series of simple questions, automatically checks the network for updates available for the router, and helps to securely configure connected devices and computers.

It's visual interface will make setting up a wireless network easier and more accessible. LELA will also automatically check the PC and network for issues that may hinder the installation and attempts to resolve any potential conflicts. No passwords or confusing network terminology are required. 

WiFi protected setup

The new Ultra RangePlus Wireless-N Routers are the first products from Linksys to ship with Wi-Fi Protected Setup certification. Wi-Fi Protected Setup is designed to simplify the task of setting up security on wireless networks. The Wi-Fi Protected Setup functionality includes a one-button synchronization feature that enables certified products to join together.
