MUMBAI: Linksys, a division of Cisco Systems Inc., and manufacturer of voice, wireless, and networking hardware for home, Small Office/Home Office (SOHO) and small business user, has announced the launch of its Wireless-N ADSL2+ Gateway (WAG325N), which provides all-in-one solution for Internet and wireless connectivity.
This new solution incorporates a Wireless-N access point, router, ADSL2+ modem, SPI firewall and 4-Port 10/100 switch, all in a single, easy to manage device, Linksys said in a statement.
The ADSL2+ modem functionality offers a high-speed broadband connection to the Internet, effective than a dial-up and without the need for tying up a phone line. The built-in 4-port 10/100 Ethernet Switch allows users to share files, printers, hard drive space, and other resources by connecting their computers to the Gateway.
The WAG325N built-in Access Point allows users to connect wireless devices to the network without wires. The Access Point built into the Gateway uses the latest Wireless-N (draft 802.11n) wireless network technology that provides up to 12 times the throughput and four times the range of Wireless-G, Linksys said.
“We believe the new Gateway addresses user’s needs with the ease of use that consumers have come to expect from Linksys and the level of speed that Wireless-N and ADSL2+ offers, makes it ideal for media-centric applications like video streaming, gaming and Voice-over-IP calls, even all at the same time.” said Sanjeev Gupta, Linksys regional sales director for Asia Pacific.
The WAG325N is available through its channel partner network in India for Rs 10,400.
