BANGALORE: Lineo, the US based Embedded Solutions company, would be starting training programs in embedded solutions shortly at different centers across the country. The company has tied up with E-Cosmos and Park Controls for this purpose and is planning to target nearly 200 students during the current financial year for its training programs, which would be of two months duration. The company is also in the process of tying up with some of the Indian universities to provide training in embedded solutions.

Mysore University would be the first amongst the universities to roll out the embedded solutions training program with the program launch slated for September 15, 2002. Lineo has tied up with E-Cosmos to roll out its training program at Mysore University. Lineo would be providing its Embedex SDK solution to the University at a subsidized rate.

According to Ajay Kapoor, Country Manager, Lineo, "We would be shortly starting embedded solutions training programs through our partners E-Cosmos and Park Controls in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kochi within the next two months. We feel that it is necessary to train students and developers in the field of embedded solutions in India". He added that on successful completion of the course, students would be given a certificate by Lineo after its endorsement from the company's headquarters in the US.

He said that the company in order to provide specialized training for its students would be restricting their intake and has plans to even hold entrance tests for admission to the training program. But won't the company help in the placement of its students? Kapoor in response to this question said that the company would surely recommend its students to its partner companies for placement but will not guarantee their placement.

Lineo, which started its Indian operations in March this year with the opening of its office in Bangalore has no plans to go ahead with its training programs on its own and believes in working with its partners in India. "We work and grow with partners across the world", Kapoor said. The company is also marketing its Embedex SDK solution in India with a tie with its partners which include Sonata and GT Enterprises and have customers like Wipro, CMC and L&T.
