BANGALORE, INDIA: LINE Corporation, owner and operator of LINE, a free call and messaging app, announced that the new version of LINE will be released simultaneously worldwide, introducing support for video calls.

Another new feature called Snap Movie lets customers take short video clips, lasting upto ten seconds and share them with friends. It will also be released first on iPhone devices, though the video call function is available on Android devices, and few PCs as well, enabling free 1-on-1 video calls between supported devices. Customers can also switch between video and voice anytime during the call.

The iPhone version will also include Snap Movie, which lets customers take short 4-to-10 second video clips and arrange them with their choice of background music. They can then share the clips with members of their friends list and groups. This offers a simple and unique way to communicate with peers, and lets customers participate in the global trend of filming and sharing short video clips with smartphones.
