LG unveils Time Machine TV

NEW DELHI: Korean-electronics major, LG Electronics, today announced the launch of an exquisite product, The Time Machine TV, with built-in digital video recorder technology.

The highlight of the new TV is its ability to offer consumers absolute control over the way they want to view television, a playability feature never before offered by any other product.

Speaking at the launch of Time Machine TV, Moon B Shin, deputy managing director, LGEIL, said, "Being the pioneers in introducing innovative and superior technology products worldwide, we are delighted to unveil the LG Time Machine TV in India after its immense success internationally. The LG Time Machine TV is a revolutionary product and is a breakthrough in the television viewing technology. LG India plans to further expand the digital display market share with the launch of Time Machine & establish its supremacy in the high end display market."

The LG Time Machine TV gives the audience the much awaited convenience of going back in time to view their favourite programs all over again with the built in HDD recorder technology. The product's user-friendly interface enables one to actually skip embarrassing commercials, which is a respite for the varied television viewing audience.

The Time Machine TV allows the end user to record while watching another live program, thus giving the viewer unlimited control over the content of program viewed. The LG ‘Time Machine TV’ has been launched worldwide to establish leadership in terms of design and technology with the same philosophy it would be launched in India.

Girish V Rao, vice president of sales and marketing with LGEIL said that with the trend of customized products fast gaining ground, Time Machine has been introduced by LG with the aim of maximizing profit in the high potential display market by securing a strong technological edge.

“The LG Time Machine TV is targeted towards the technology savvy audience and will make television viewing much more intelligent than before. The product has been a success worldwide especially in markets such as Europe and South East Asia, and we are expecting Time Machine alone to contribute around 25 per cent to our total Flat Panel Display sales," he said.

The LG Time Machine Plasma TV comes equipped with Clarofilter Technology, which shows enhanced Picture Quality through a special Optical film, thus removing double image and distracting effects of reflected light while watching television. The TV allows viewers to record one live programme, while watching another live program. The broadcast being recorded is shown in the lower- right corner of the main screen. Signals from Cable or satellite can be saved in analogue and digital TV mode. One can also record from external input devices like camcorders, DVD Players, Game consoles onto the HDD recorder inside the TV.
