SEOUL, S.KOREA: At this year’s Mobile World Congress, to be held in Barcelona from February 14 to 17, LG will unveil the LG Optimus 3D, the world’s first 3D smartphone offering consumers a full 3D experience right in the palm of their hands.

The LG Optimus 3D addresses the lack of 3D content issue — one of the biggest problems facing the 3D market — with a complete platform for a one-of-a-kind experience on a mobile device, said a press release.

LG said this is its most advanced smartphone to date and it will feature a dual-lens camera for 3D recording, a glasses-free LCD panel for 3D viewing and diverse connectivity options such as HDMI and DLNA for 3D content sharing anytime, anywhere.

However, LG refused to divulge any further details.

Meanwhile, it also said that its first tablet will hit the US market in March. LG said the G-slate was among the first tablet models to run on the 'Honeycomb' operating system, which is Google's latest generation of Android platforms designed for mobile devices with large screens.

According to reports, The G-slate features a 8.9-inch screen, smaller than the iPad's nearly 10-inch display but larger than the seven-inch screen of Samsung Electronics' Galaxy Tab.

“LG's table computer is expected to cause a new trend in the global market as well as in North America,” LG said in a statement
