LG to roll out IT stores this year

NEW DELHI, INDIA: South Korean consumer electronics major LG Electronics has finalised plans to roll out product-specific brand stores in India. The company intends to roll out such stores for two product categories this year -- Airconditioners and IT products.

These stores will aim at growing the company's share in these segments and establish the LG brand. The company plans to name its AC store as 'LG AC Solution Plaza'. The IT brand stores will be christened as 'LG IT Shoppe'. These stores will have a premium 'look and feel' and provide integrated services to consumers. Till recently, LG had just one brand store format in India - LG Shoppe, which showcases the company's entire product portfolio. 

By December, we will roll out some 4-5 LG IT Shoppe and 5-6 LG AC Solution Plaza format outlets in some major cities. The number of such stores will be relatively low since we want them to be flagship ones. "They will play an integral part in establishing LG as a premium and aspirational brand," LG Electronics India director (sales & marketing) V Ramachandran said.
