LG brings Shine to mobile phone market

NEW DELHI, INDIA: LG Electronics has announced the India launch of LG Shine, the latest handset in its premium Black Label series of mobile phones developed on total style.

Shine is India’s first and only full metal bodied phone with a Multi Function Scroll Key, LG said in a statement. Bo H. (Bo-Hwan) Choi, LG Mobile Communications’ vice president of Asia, the Middle East, and Africa and LG India’s managing director Moon B Shin, unveiled the phone here.

The new phone will be available both in a slider phone and bar phone version .

“The Indian market is one of our key markets, as it has the potential to grow at double digit rates annually,” said Choi. “We are confident that this year we will have an even stronger presence in the market with our premium fashionable and advanced handsets and clear focus on stylish handsets, such as LG Shine.”

Shine a full-metal bodied super-slim handset is designed with a sophisticated, yet highly trendy ‘Styled in Metal’ concept and has a look and feel totally dissimilar to any previous handset, offering mobile users the best of both worlds with amazing looks and a high technical specification

The slim phone includes a two mega-pixel auto focus camera by Schneider Kreuznach and expandable memory (Micro SD card) Access to Shine’s menu system is by an easy-to-use multi-function scroll key.

Shine is also equipped with a comprehensive media player with multi-codec support (MP3, WAV and ACC++) and real spectrum display. Shine supports GPRS and EDGE network compatibility, Bluetooth and USB connectivity and the most unique thing is it is all controlled by a Multi Function Scroll Key.

Already available in Korea, Shine has sold over three millions units globally since its launch. LG expects the same level of excitement and sales in India following a high profile launch campaign.

LG Shine slider phone is available for Rs 15999 and bar phone is available for Rs 8999.
