Leviton OmniTouch 7 wins human interface product of the year at CES

LAS VEGAS, USA: Leviton announced today its OmniTouch 7 touchscreen has been recognized by the Consumer Electronics Association's TechHome Division with the 2014 Mark of Excellence (MOE) Award of Human Interface of Product of the Year.

The Human Interface Award recognizes a product that embodies state-of-the-art ergonomics coupled with technology to make the human interface intuitive, functional and user-friendly.

"The user-friendly Leviton OmniTouch 7 offers a variety of intuitive and customizable features allowing users to specialize the devices to their specific automation and control preferences," said Greg Rhoades, director of marketing for Leviton Security & Automation. "We are honored that the device was recognized and stood out among its competitors in this impressive category."

The OmniTouch 7 touchscreen, part numbers 99A00-1 (white) and 99A00-2 (black), is a high definition capacitive touch device for controlling security, energy and entertainment. With a multitude of uses, the device is equally capable of controlling the inside a townhouse or a small warehouse. Available in four languages, the plug-and-play touchscreen features a sleek graphical user interface with swipe gesture functionality for dedicated and reliable control.

Competing among a record number of entries to the Human Interface category, the OmniTouch 7 was honored among industry leaders and category finalists including Crestron, RTI and URC.

In addition to the MOE award, Advanced Technologies of Baton Rouge, La., won Integrated Security Project of the Year and Custom Home of the Year Between $50,000 and $150,000 (budget) utilizing a variety of Leviton smart devices, including OmniTouch touchscreens and a Leviton installer.

Consumer Electronic Show (CES) attendees can demonstrate the Leviton OmniTouch 7 touchscreen inside the Z-Wave Alliance pavilion at CES, Booth 20800.

The OmniTouch 7 was chosen as the touchscreen to control the Z-Wave Interoperability Wall, allowing attendees to adjust lighting, shades, security, temperatures and more. The touchscreen is also available alongside car chargers, USB charging receptacles, networking devices and automation solutions in Leviton's CES Booth, 21300.
