Lenovo unveils ThinkPad W700 in India

BANGALORE, INDIA: Personal computers maker Lenovo announced on Tuesday the launch of the ThinkPad W700 in India.

Lenovo said in a press release this is the first-ever 17-inch widescreen mobile workstation engineered to deliver unparalleled performance to data and graphics-intensive user environments.

The ThinkPad W700 incorporates a built-in digitizer and colour calibrator in a mobile workstation and combines these innovations with first-in-market technologies such as new NVIDIA Quadro FX mobile graphics.

The workstation supports the upcoming Intel mobile quad core processor, thus benefiting users with the highest level of mobile workstation, power and performance, the release added.

“Given the specific and intensive needs of niche user segments like photographers and digital designers, we have created the ultimate mobile workstation,” said Jaivinder Singh Gill, executive director, Commercial Business, Lenovo India.

“We believe that the ThinkPad W700 will revolutionize and outperform the industry with its optimized speed, unmatched stability and ultimate visual experience,” he added.

Ideally designed for digital content creators and users, the mobile workstation’s digitizer helps one to easily configure an image, either mapping it to the entire screen or to an area defined by the user, the release said.

“The Intel Core 2 Extreme quad-core processor delivers the ultimate computing performance for mobile professionals, and we are very pleased to partner with Lenovo for its newest mobile workstation.”

The ThinkPad W700 also includes WiFi wireless connectivity that enables users to connect to other devices using mobile workstation models featuring Bluetooth and ultra wideband technology.

It features a 7-in-1 multi-card reader and five USB ports, and comes with an optional compact flash reader and Blu-ray DVD burner/ player.
