Lenovo launches new products for SMEs

NEW DELHI, INDIA: World's fourth-largest PC vendor, Lenovo, here on Tuesday announced the launch of new desktops, laptops and all-in-ones that are exclusively for the SME vertical.

The new range of products include ThinkCentre Edge 71z, ThinkCentre Edge 71, ThinkCentre Edge 91z, ThinkPad X220, ThinkPad Edge E420s(SSD) and Lenovo B570. This lineup is equipped with Lenovo Enhanced Experience 2.0 for Windows 7 that facilitates fast boot time, superior performance and power management, the company added.

The company aims to create a significant impact in the SME market by deploying a holistic approach to the market, encompassing aggressive retail push, deeper channel penetration and channel engagement with exclusive product range.

Lenovo believes that there are more than 1 million potential IT buyers within the SME segment in India, out of which 20,000 are of medium enterprises. It serves the customers through 150 channel partners and is planning to extend the partner-base to 750 by the end of FY 2011-12.

Rajiv Rao, director-SMB, Lenovo India, said the PCs can withstand the vagaries of an SME's growth journey by offering unmatched performance blended with attractive design and affordable pricing. “Our Edge range of PCs offer worry-free computing, enabling users to accomplish their business goals and balance their personal lives,” he said.

To penetrate the length and breadth of the country's diverse SME market, Lenovo is creating an unprecedented reach of close to 500 retail touch points over the next fiscal year, which include over 300 retail outlets and close to 200 reseller and VAR network.

“We have a strong focus on SMEs and have a robust partner network,” said Amar Babu, MD, Lenovo India. “Our overwhelming growth over the last few quarters is a testimony to the success of our ‘protect and attack strategy.’ We strongly believe that going forward the Indian SME will be the growth engine of our economy.”
