Lenovo intros Android based Yoga tablet starting from Rs 22,999

BANGALORE, INDIA: Lenovo, today launched its Android based Yoga Tablet in the country. Available in two variants, the 8 inch model is priced at Rs 22,999 while the 10-inch version is priced at Rs 28,999.

Identifying a significant need gap in the market for a Tablet that truly adapts to the user; Lenovo and Ashton Kutcher came together to envisage and create the Yoga Tablet, said Lenovo.

"True to its name, this machine redefines what a Tablet stands for. Based on research which suggests that the usage of gadgets over an extended time period has an impact on our physical well-being, the Yoga Tablet has been ergonomically designed to aid a longer and comfortable Tablet viewing experience," said Amar Babu, MD, Lenovo India Pvt Ltd.

Powered by Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the Yoga tablet comes with 5-mega pixel camera, VGA front'facing camera, 16GB of internal storage (which can be expanded upto 64GB) and 1GB RAM.

Lenovo claims that the Yoga tablet's battery can last more than 18 hours.

Speaking at the launch, Shailendra Katyal, director, Consumer Business, Lenovo India said, "Technology is a part of who we are, therefore it needs to transition constantly to keep pace with our changing lifestyles. With this intent, we have re-engineered the Tablet from ground-up to offer users a better way to experience the Tablet."

"We are confident that the Yoga Tablet will redefine the category and set the stage for devices that are in sync with the evolving needs of the consumer," he added.

Lenovo said, as an introductory offer, the company is providing accessory bundle, a sleeve cover, a protective film, and an earphone, woth Rs 4000 for 8-inch and Rs 5000 for 10-inch for those who buy before Novermber 24, 2013.
