Lenovo India gets new head for channel biz

BANGALORE, INDIA: Lenovo today appointed Ramprasad Lakshminarayanan as vice president, Transactional Consumer Sales for India.

Lakshminarayanan will be responsible for the management and growth of Lenovo’s channel business, spearheading the business development of Lenovo’s consumer brand PCs, IdeaPad and IdeaCentre, and developing the consumer sales network across the country.

“His (Lakshminarayanan) commitment to grow and foster channel partnerships will be of immense value to Lenovo as we aim to grow our consumer PC business by penetrating cities and towns across India,” said Amar Babu, managing director, Lenovo India.

“Lenovo has achieved significant success in the Indian PC market and has built a credible brand globally. Its dynamic global culture, history of innovation and customer satisfaction are appealing as well as challenging. I look forward to being part of the company’s future growth and success”, said Lakshminarayanan.

Prior to joining Lenovo, Lakshminarayanan was the associate vice president at HCL Infosystems Limited. He has over 19 years of experience in handling channel, distribution and direct account business in HCL Infosystems.
