Features: Chinese PC vendor Lenovo today unveiled
its first Lenovo-branded dual-core
notebook computer, a widescreen, affordable system designed for home users
and small business customers.
With multimedia capabilities, such as forward facing stereo speakers, an
integrated microphone for playing and recording audio; and an integrated combo
or DVD recordable drive, the N100 is suited for the home consumer segment as
well as the growing small business users who rely on the same computer for both
business and personal use.
The
N100 also incorporates a 4-in-1 multi-card reader for downloading digital
pictures from multiple types of memory cards, four USB ports, 1394 and S-Video
ports. In addition, the multimedia software allows for management of photos and
music — an important need for the home user. An integrated camera for personal
and business communications and an integrated fingerprint reader for easier
management of passwords are available on select models.
The Lenovo 3000 N100 simplifies owning and operating a PC by automating many
routine security and maintenance tasks though a unique suite of productivity
tools. Weighing 2.54 kg, the new N100 comes in 14.1-inch and 15.4-inch
widescreen models for viewing 20 percent more data space in spreadsheet
applications or watching DVDs in the optimized format.
The N100 is available with an Intel Core Duo or Solo processor that efficiently
runs multiple programs simultaneously, such as business applications while
conducting virus scans in the background.(3) The N100 also offers complete
connectivity features such as integrated 802.11 a/b/g wireless LAN(4) and 10/100
Ethernet on all models, and Bluetooth on select models.
