DRAPER, USA: DAZ 3D has released the latest version of their DAZ Studio SDK Plug-in Architecture, as part of the DAZ Studio 1.7 version public release. Based on the Qt framework developed by Trolltech, this SDK provides developers with a very thorough and well-documented plug-in architecture that is extremely simple to work with. Developers will enjoy the exposure to the DAZ Studio core, which gives them the opportunity to tap into virtually any part of DAZ Studio’s modern 3D engines and toolsets, says the release.

“Developing DAZ Studio using the Qt framework has saved us an amazing amount of time and money,” stated Brian Wagner, director of research and development for DAZ 3D. “We’re excited to offer our full plug-in SDK at a great discount to help open the door for new developers, in order to help the community grow around this great 3D software.”

Qt sets the standard for high-performance, cross-platform application development. It includes a C++ class library and tools for cross-platform development and internationalization. Qt is also available to Java programmers through Qt Jambi.

“Any developer in need of a robust, well-supported 3D engine should try out the DAZ Studio SDK,” said Jan AArsaether, technical sales lead for Trolltech, Inc. “The possibilities of the DAZ Studio SDK, as combined with Qt, are virtually limitless,” he added.
