Laser Soft launches cluster-banking software

BANGALORE: Laser Soft Infosystems Ltd., a Chennai-based banking software
company has developed a cluster-banking software called ProBanker/CB. This
software can be used by Public Sector Banks who are having large number of
automated branches to centralize the data and to centralize back office
monitoring and MIS functions, claims Laser Soft.

According to Laser Soft Infosystems Ltd. chairman B. Suresh Kamath, "The
software deploys a cluster centre in a metro city or a zonal office centre of
the Bank. Branches need to be connected by leased lines to the cluster centre
and will be provided with a leased file server, which will ensure branch
operations even when the communication line fails. This kind of implementation
provides true sense ‘Any Where Banking’." ATM’s and other resources
can be connected to the cluster center and can be shared by all the Branches in
the cluster. Banks can implement two tier clusters so that complete data can be
available centrally at the Bank’s Head Office. Facilities like Internet
Banking, telebanking, network ATMs, Cell Phone Banking can be provided from the
data at the cluster centre. The software has a provision to be converted into
3-tier cluster also.

ProBanker, is the total banking automation package with over 3000
functionalities, states the company press release. This product offers
comprehensive and flexible banking solution available in the country today.
Corporation Bank has already installed this product in 300 of their Branches and
Andhra Bank has already finalized the agreement for installation at 400 of their
Branches, which will be networked. Laser Soft has also entered into an alliance
with Thakral Brothers, a Singapore based Marketing Company for marketing of the
products in Far East and Southeast Regions. They have also tied up with M/s
Tetra Soft Inc, US-based firm for offshore development of projects in client
server, e-commerce and Banking segments. Laser Soft has entered into a strategic
alliance with M/s Liant Software, a UK based company for marketing of their
products and developments tools in India
