Laptops stolen from Mips Computers

SURAT, INDIA: Two Compaq laptops were stolen from Mips Computers, located in Nanpura, Surat. The shop owner Noorali Meghani has suffered a loss of nearly Rs 80, 000.

"A man came to my shop and selected two Compaq laptops. He said that with his father's consent he would purchase either one and clear the payment there itself," explained Meghani.

At the moment Meghani said yes out of courtesy. He sent an attendant with the customer to collect the payment as well as one laptop. "My attendant was riding the bike and that man sat behind holding both the laptops. On Ring Road, near the Mahalakshmi market when the attendant slowed down the bike due to traffic, the customer jumped off the bike and ran away with laptops," said Meghani.

Meghani lodged a complaint in the police station just after the incident, but could not recover the stolen laptops. This incident has been informed to all other shops in Surat to alert them about the fraudster.
