Lanner enters India with 50:50 JV with D-Link

BANGALORE: Lanner Electronics Inc., USA has initiated its foray into India 50:50 tie-up with D-Link India to enhance market penetration in the Asia-Pacific region. The new company, Lanner Electronics India, will bring specialized industrial PCs in industrial automation and process control, environment monitoring, telecommunication, defence and utilities and chemical, steel, oil and gas industries in India.



Speaking on the occasion of the tie-up, Steven Liu, Vice President of Lanner Electronics said, "the combination of Lanner’s technical expertise in industrial PC industry and D-Link’s worldwide networking will make this new joint venture a very formidable one. Our plans are aggressive and we will be working to create a name for Lanner in the Indian market."



Presently, Lanner will use D-Link’s manufacturing facility to develop these industrial PCs in India. During the next two years, the company plans to have its development center in India. Currently, both the companies havbe invested around Rs 50 lakh in the tie-up and plans another Rs 3 -4 crore of investment this year. According to Lanner, industrial PCs will be priced at around Rs 1.5 lakh in India and targeted at defence, automation and steel industries.
