Kyushu Railway joins tracks with Patni Japan

JAPAN: Kyushu Railway Company (JR Kyushu), a major railroad company in Japan, and Patni Computer Systems Ltd have signed a joint venture (JV) pact between JR Kyushu System Solutions Inc, the IT systems arm of Japan and Patni Computer Systems Japan, Inc. (Patni Japan), the Japanese arm of Patni. The new company christened BJR Kyushu Patni Systems, Inc. is a 51:49 partnership between JRQSS and Patni Japan respectively.

The JV is aimed at providing high quality, cost effective IT and product engineering services to the Japanese enterprise market. Patni's vast experience of servicing JR Kyushu Group companies combined with its global offshore delivery capabilities will allow the new company to respond effectively to the unique needs of Japanese customers. It will also expand into other Asian markets in the future, adds a press release.

Commenting on the joint venture, Koji Karaike, Chief Executive Officer, JR Kyushu said, "Kyushu is committed to its theme of Growth and Evolution. By combining Patni's high-end technical and sales capability with our domestic expertise, we will be able to offer quality IT services to customers other than the JR Kyushu Group. We are very pleased to take the first step of growth in this new area.

It is surely managing systems such as JR Kyushu base system (JAMPS), Kyushu bullet train vehicle management system, consolidated accounting system etc. Also for JR group companies, ASP service for personal salary system, system installation support, etc. are actively developing.
