Kyocera launches new facility

  NEW DELHI: Kyocera Wireless India Private Ltd (KWI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Kyocera Wireless Corp (KWC), inaugurated its new facility in the Global Village Campus at Mylasandra Village in Bangalore.

Sri Sri Ravishankar, founder of Art of Living, inaugurated the new facility. Speaking at the occasion he said, “Everything that we do has to come from our heart. Only when we put in our 100 per cent into our work will we succeed in getting our country its due recognition.”

Also present at the inauguration was Samartha R Nagabhushanam, managing director, KWI who observed, “KWI was set up with the objective of delivering end-to-end CDMA handsets for the global market from India. This achieved, our next milestone is to make India the center for delivering the very best products and next generation technologies for the global market, and to grow Kyocera’s market share in India. At this important juncture, it is our privilege to be blessed by the presence of a great spiritual leader of India.”

Rodney Lanthorne, president Kyocera Wireless Corp. and of Kyocera International Inc., the North American holding company for the Kyocera Group, also attended the inauguration.

KWI started its operations in India in 2003 with 28 engineers. Since then, KWI has grown dramatically while demonstrating its expertise in the development of CDMA phone platforms for the global market, including: Software Development Engineering, Requirement Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Product Testing and Independent Validation, Software Process Engineering, Human Factors Engineering, Computer-Aided Industrial Design Engineering, and Customer Care Operations and Sales Support.

With a strength of 550, and a strong side-by-side working relationship with parent company Kyocera Corporation of Japan, KWI is growing beyond CDMA handsets today to include the research and development of next generation technologies such as PHS-PS, I-Burst, and Wireless Infrastructure development, among other solutions.

In addition to Kyocera's R&D and engineering operations, India is an important and growing market for Kyocera on the handset sales side, where the company markets and sells seven innovative handsets in the low, mid and high-tier range through Tata Teleservices and Reliance Infocomm.
