Kuldip Singh named MTNL acting chairman, MD

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Kuldip Singh, currently a director with Indian state-run Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd, has been appointed as the acting chairman and managing director of the company, effective from Friday.

"Yes, I have taken over from today," Singh told Reuters by telephone.

Former Chairman R.S.P. Sinha had resigned from his post and Thursday was his last day with the company, Singh said.
