The National Informatics Centre (NIC) has developed the e-district application and in order to enable service delivery through e-district, the government has notified the Kerala Information Technology (Electronic Delivery of Services) Rules, 2010, under the Central IT Act, 2000.

Once the proposed online database verification system is launched, the public will only have to provide a serial number of the certificate for availing any service. The village officer can verify each application with the respective department's database and issue certificates immediately.

The State Data Centre (SDC) which is based on a free and open source software platform will store all relevant details and digital documents related to each application. The KSITM has developed a portal that will help official authorities to track and monitor the flow of applications in each e-district.
